Microsoft will launch Windows 8 on October 26

Microsoft has confirmed that it is going to launch Windows 8 on October 26th, right on a par with what Microsoft promised. Microsoft’s Steven Sinofsky made the announcement during the company’s annual sales meeting where he noted Windows 8 will be available as either an upgrade or on “a new PC.”

Windows 8 will cater to both desktop PCs as well as notebooks and a number of Microsoft’s partners are on board to develop tablets, as well. The company also recently announced its own Windows 8 and Windows 8 RT “Surface” tablets.
