HTC is going to be manufactured the next major and new large-size smartphone segment by launching a flagship model with a 5-inch display featuring a resolution of 1794 by 1080 pixels that can be as like the Samsung Galaxy Note in September-October 2012, according to industry sources.
It is not now rumors that Samsung Electronics, which pioneered the development of the 5-inch segment, also plans to release a 5.5-inch model, the Galaxy Note II, at the end of August, the sources noted.
It is sure that the HTC phone would join the likes of the LG Optimus Vu and Galaxy Note in an attempt to capitalize on the market for those seeking a device that has the portability of a phone but the functionality of a tablet. With the 4.7-inch screen of the One X, the company is no stranger to large display sizes. But just how successful a phablet offering from the manufacturer might be has us intrigued.
