Samsung is going to upgrade its flagship the Samsung Galaxy s3 Smartphones to Google’s latest mobile operating system (OS), Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The news first surfaced on Sunday by Sammobile, which said it has learned Samsung plans to release the update in August or September in this year. Samsung is allegedly being tested Android 4.1 Jelly Bean builds for the Galaxy S II as well.
We can expect that Samsung will update the Samsung Galaxy S III to Jelly Bean at some point, but we’re guessing it won’t be as soon as Sammobile says. It typically takes manufacturers several months to initiate these roll outs. In fact, the Galaxy S II on AT&T was only just recently updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Of course, carrier testing can often lengthen the amount of time it takes for an update to arrive on a device.
